Super Blend Me Challenge Day 4

Hello Day 4 - I had the best sleep, woke up feeling energized.  Full of beans today, well this is a change from how I've been feeling the past couple of days.  The girls wanted a cooked breakfast this morning, I really thought I would be craving it too but I wasn't and was really looking forward to having my first smoothie of the morning.  I had this a bit later in the morning I wasn't craving food when I woke up.  I took my time, enjoying all the flavours, today we're off to my friends for a sleepover so after my lunchtime smoothie, I prepared my evening one, if your doing the challenge or thinking of doing it then it really is best to prep if you know you will be out at the times when your smoothie is due, it saves you from falling off the wagon, and you will feel so much better for it.

Dinner time came at my friends, she had cooked Spaghetti Bolognese which is one of my favourites, the smell of the onions and all the flavours made me so hungry, I sat at the table with them whilst they all tucked into their food and there was me drinking my super green blend which was delicious.  Later in the evening I started to feel super hungry, I think because I'd stayed up later than what I have been my brain was telling me that I needed something.  I had a couple of dizzy spells tonight, really I should have just gone to bed early again instead I stayed up and gave in and had some plain Pringles, now let me tell you I felt so satisfied when I'd had them but the next morning waking up day 5, whilst I'm writing this I can feel them still I wish I had never eaten them.  I'm not going to beat myself up over it, I'm only human.  There's no way I will be slipping like that again, really what I should have done was have a piece of fruit or made some of the recommended protein balls.  You have to be prepared to fight those little demons!

Day 4 the bloating had gone, I tried put on a pair of trousers that a few weeks back wouldn't even do up but today I got them on without any problems, now I can see that I'm feeling lighter.  I feel good for the first time on the challenge I feel like I have lots of energy.

We shall see what day 5 brings.  Nearly half way there, I'm going to do this!!

Super Blend Me Challenge Day 3

Hello Day 3 well I have to say I had the best sleep last night, usually I struggle to get to sleep or wake at least 3/4 times but I slept through and felt great.  So Abi is off again today so we'll be heading to my Mum's for the day before we pick up Sophia.  Today I'm craving caffeine, so before the plan I was having at least 3 cups of coffee a day, or tea.  I've always been fairly good with my water intake so that's not a problem keeping up with that but the caffeine today I'm struggling, I walk into my Mum's and can smell coffee, argh the temptation! A large glass of water it is.  Before I left home this morning I made my lunchtime smoothie, I'm glad I did, come 12pm I started to feel hungry, Abi was eating a big plate of Macaroni Cheese, I'm not a fan of the ready made ones which is what she had from Sainsburys, but the smell of it suddenly was so appealing.  No I shall not give in, I grabbed my smoothie and slowly drank it, I want to make it last.  Abi was waving her toffee dessert in my face, saying 'Mummy you can't have any' the smell of the toffee, it smelt so good.  Again I shall not give in!

Today I'm still feeling quite bloated, and I haven't been to the toilet as regularly as I usually do, maybe this is my body adjusting to the change.  I don't expect to have a flat stomach by day 3 but I'm quite surprised at how bloated I'm feeling.  I feel tired again today, like I could happily sleep all day which is not like me.  I'm feeling super moody, maybe this is the withdrawals from all the bad stuff, plus its that time of the month both combined!  Another early night for me tonight, we're having movie night and the girls have their snacks of crisps and chocolate, I'm drinking my water, I know if I give in then it will just ruin what I've started.

8am - Tahini Protein Berry Blast
1pm - Minty Green Super Blend
6pm - Super Berry Blast

Super Blend Me Challenge Day 2

Day 2 - Woke up feeling okay, happy that I'd completed my first day without any fails.  After breakfast the hunger started to kick in around 11 am so I had a large glass of water and tried everything to distract myself from thinking about food!

I found myself craving to have my lunch smoothie.  Abigail is off sick today at home so I'm doing everything I can do distract myself from wanting food.  Making her lunch was a struggle (she had chicken wraps with salad), one part of my brain was telling me yes, the other part shouting no!! But I didn't give in to the bad side.  I'm feeling quite bloated today (that time of the month ladies!) I always seem to bloat out before hand, I'm also feeling a bit sluggish, wanting to snack on things.  My body is craving rubbish.  By the afternoon I wanted to fall asleep, if she hadn't have been off I could have gone for a long walk to wake myself up.  I'm not going to give up.

Tonight I tried Yoga for the first time.  I've wanted to do it for so long I looked up a few videos on YouTube for beginners, even the girls joined in with me.  Lets just say I need to work on my flexibility! I need to plan some kind of exercise routine with this challenge, whether it be long walks and home workouts.  My friend wants me to join the gym with her, its fitting it in, maybe I should at least if I have someone to workout with it usually motivates you more.  We used to train together all the time at the beginning of last year, I need that buzz again!

I loved all of today's smoothies. My 1pm Raspberry Coconut Protein Shake is my ultimate favorite. Lets hope I sleep well tonight its 9.30pm and I'm ready for bed.  We shall see how I'm feeling tomorrow.

8am - Creamy Nut Butter Protein Blast

Super Blend Me Challenge Day 1

The past few weeks I've started to feel bloated and diet hasn't exactly been great.  After being poorly for most of the Christmas period I didn't have a massive appetite so lost a little weight, not intentionally may I add but just because I couldn't stomach much.  So after feeling better again I suppose I went into a bit of a binge.  I then started to feel sluggish and bloated again and knew I'd put on quite a few extra pounds but I didn't feel good at all, my skin was breaking out, my jeans were getting tight, I wasn't sleeping properly and I was just generally feeling rubbish.  My Mum told me about the Super Blend Me Book by Jason Vale, that she had ordered, feeling motivated to do something about the way I was feeling I decided to sign myself up to the 10 day challenge.  There is no fee for the actual challenge, and I didn't want to wait for the book to be delivered so I downloaded his app on iTunes, watched the YouTube videos provided on the app and decided that this was a challenge that I wanted to set myself not only to lose weight but to feel better and detox my body from all the crap I had been consuming, foods that I knew were not good for me but just ate for the sake of it, I'm sure we've all been there!

Let me tell you a little bit about the Super Blend Me Challenge - It consists to three smoothies a day for 10 days, you can also complete it for 14 or 21 days but that's totally up to you.  So the smoothies are packed with goodness to fill you up between meals.  You can of course drink water in between to fill the hunger.  I think mentally you have to be prepared and in the right mindset to do this.  I'm determined not to give up & I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel both mentally and physically.  It is also recommended to exercise whether it be going to the gym for 30 minutes a few times a week, going for long walks or even home workouts.  You can find all the information about the Challenge on the Super Blend Me App or in the book/ebook. Including lots of very tasty recipes.

Day 1 - So today is my very first day starting the challenge, I'm feeling super motivated to complete today so I'll be keeping a daily diary documenting my highs and lows, how I'm feeling, finding the challenge.

8am - Time for my first smoothie of the day which is the Turbo Charge Super Blend.  This tastes amazing, maybe not to everyones taste but when making smoothies I always like to make them with lots of green goodness.

1pm - Blueberry Kale & Cashew Crunch - I love Cashew nuts and this was super tasty.

6pm - Tahini Protein Berry Blast - 6pm and I was so ready for this bad boy!

So day 1 is over, I surprisingly feel quite full up, in all honestly I really thought I would be starving and craving food but I'm not, its the end of day one and its been an easy day.  I've been drinking water inbetween feeling hungry but honestly its not as bad as what I thought I would feel like.  Lets see what day 2 brings.

I've also been stalking other Instagram accounts that are also doing the challenge which is very motivating and great seeing peoples results who have already taken part.

All the recipes are set out for you each day so in a day my smoothies consist of Kale, Strawberries, Blueberries, Yougart, Sunflower Seeds, Spinach, Apple, Almond Milk, Coconut Water & Milk & Oaty Milk.  Full recipes are all found within the plan.

At the end of the plan I will be putting my before & after results for the challenge, I won't be putting any photos up just yet!

Hello Day - Hello Winter Box

I'm really excited to be sharing with you this lovely Winter Box as for me it couldn't have come at a better time, as well as being a lovely gift for Christmas this would also be a great treat for yourself or for a friend who is in need of some extra TLC.  For me I've been feeling quite run down lately.  Which I will do a separate post for but I feel like my body is in need of some extra attention, I need to start looking after myself more.

Let me tell you a little bit about the Winter Box from a lovely company called Hello Day.  They have created a unique range of healthcare and well being supplements, for men and women.  These are available as seasonal boxes specifically formulated by doctors and pharmacists, Hello Day helps you prepare and manage your body, mind and spirit throughout the year.  Such a great idea to help you start the new Season especially Winter which is the season that tends to make me feel a bit low and not so much myself.

The Winter Box contains four coordinated food supplements to help improve and strengthen hair, nails and skin, boost vitality to maintain energy levels during seasonal lows and to keep you fully recharged, support your immune system in preventing colds and infection and balance your gut for greater bacterial resistance and improve digestive comfort.

IMPORTANT!! Please note importantly that they should be used alongside a healthy way of life rather than a substitute for a balanced diet.  Remember that eating well and regular exercise along with the supplements will improve your well being, not just the capsules alone.

What the Winter Box includes:

Vitality Boost - These are great if you're feeling run down and in need of a boost and to keep you recharged and your energy levels evened out.

Bioharmony Balance - A healthy gut microflora is essential for good digestion and a cleansed system.  Bioharmony Balance combines the effects of multiple priobiotics with a prebiotic to help with digestive discomfort and ease bloating and transit disorders.

Beauty Boost - The prevents and protects, with each season creating its own demands on our skin, hair and nails - whether the drying and weakening effects caused by sun, sea and chlorine or the chapping and cracking effects caused by cold and windy weather, nutritional deficiencies also play their role.

Immunity Support - Support your immune system to fight against those nasty colds, viruses and other infection-causing pathogens.

As I said above all of these should be used along side a good healthy balanced diet and exercise.

I can't wait to keep you updated on my progress of more self care which I will be featuring weekly now on my blog.
